Dog Will Not Listen To Commands

Having a Well Trained Pet

The dog will not listen to commands, the dog is wild, and you are frustrated. So your pooch isn’t the best behaved dog on the block? That is alright, at least for now. There could be any infinite number of things influencing this particular behavior you are witnessing. However, there are more than enough studies done that have shown that most of the reasons why dogs do not listen to their owners, is because the owner is poor at training. This isn’t the owners fault because how are you expected to know everything? You may be hurting yourself more than you think. Take a look now at some of the reasons why your dog will not listen to you.

Put an end to your dog's
bad behavior for good.

Many people do not like the fact of yelling at their dog, nor do I. If you can though, use a very loud stern voice while training or correcting your dog, you will be much better off. There is no need to lose a vocal chord over the matter. Your dog is not going to be confused if you take this action during the time it is happening. If you come home though and begin to yell at the dog and hours have passed since the time of misbehavior, you will have a problem. So what is there to remember? Do not think your dog will be upset with you because you raised your voice. Take charge and stay in command.

We all need correction from time to time and animals are no different. If you can let the dog know that all it needs is a little wake up call, you will be well on your way to having a well trained pet. I think one of the biggest problems in dog ownership is that with the dogs being so adapt to human life and interaction, we tend to place human emotion on them way too much and thus, it interferes with our training. If two dogs are play fighting or talking with each other in doggy terms, it could well be mistaken for a vicious fight and the two pups would be separated, when in fact all of it was harmless.

It is the little things in the day to day routine that will make or break you as a dog owner. Allow your animal to show you its feelings and what it can do for you. There is no sense in trying to beat the problem out of the dog. Whatever the problem may be, the dog will let you know what it is in due time. Quit making excuses for yourself as to what the issue is or why you don’t want to correct the animal. Get motivated and start to take action today.

Never back off or become shy in your training either. You are not going to hurt the dog’s feeling by giving it command to stop chewing or stop sleeping on your new couch. You are simply letting it know who the boss is. When you establish the fact that you rule the surroundings, your relationship with the animal is going to improve vastly and you will notice a difference. -- Dogs and Energy
