Exercise For Your Dog

Go Rollerblading

There is nothing like some good exercise for your dog. We need fitness to stay healthy and to stay in shape. Why would a dog be any different? If you are naturally the fitness buff, then bringing your pet pooch along for the fun shouldn’t be a problem at all. This is of course, unless your pet pooch is a problem to begin with. Is your dog a problem? If so, see my newsletter and what it can do for you. Exercise is great for all walks of life, your dog included.

Put an end to your dog's
laziness for good.

If you go rollerblading regularly, this may be your best bet to get the dog out of the house. Since you don’t go as fast on rollerblades as you do with a bicycle, your dog will have a better chance of keeping up with you for the allotted time. Just like anything else, dogs will take time to learn the proper way of exercising along with you. Many dogs will not get in your way after they have been with you a few times but for the most part, the pet that is just starting in this business will be, well a little hard to deal with at times.

If your dog is getting in your way when you are rollerblading, running, or on a bike, whatever it is that you do, simply take the leash and give a strong pull in the direction you would like the animal to be. This should work for the most part and does the job pretty well. Never increase your speed of your exercising until you know your dog is safely out of your way. Not doing so could lead to some bad accidents and we don’t want to go there.

Be very careful though about exercising on a regular basis. Want to know why? Your pet pooch is going to become addicted to exercising, maybe even more than you are at the moment. Once dogs get the hang of running, they really do love the activity. It keeps them fit, gets them outside, they get to see the world, and so much more. Now, with your pet wanting to exercise just like you do, you will have a companion to keep you motivated to keep it up.

It is always recommended to keep your dog on the leash at all times when in public. Even if you think your dog is well behaved, there is always that chance that something could go wrong and you don’t want to have to deal with that issue. So for safety’s sake, just keep the pooch on the leash. Last but not least, it is a good idea to have water handy not only for yourself, but also for your dog. The animal is going to sweat, become hot, and will need to have a drink and cool down just like you will. Also keep in mind the duration of time your dog can exercise for. You don’t want to run the animal into the ground. Take care and keep on running.
